Written exam venues
ANZCA lists the written exam venues as Auckland, Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart, Launceston, Melbourne, Newcastle, Perth, Sydney, Townsville and Wellington.
How to use the dates
Work back from the application closing date, not the exam date. That is when you need to have decided whether you are ready: 6 January for the March written, 16 June for the August written. The withdrawal date gives you a second checkpoint if your recent practice papers change your mind.
The written exam is the gate to the viva, and each viva sitting falls two to three months after its written. If you are aiming for the March sitting, the viva work should already be under way by the time you sit the written.
