ACEM Primary exam dates for 2027
There are two sittings of each part in 2027. The dates below come from ACEM’s published 2027 Primary Examination Dates, so check ACEM’s website for any change.
Primary Written
Sitting 2027.1: 12 February 2027. Applications open 7 December 2026 and close 22 January 2027.
Sitting 2027.2: 6 August 2027. Applications open 24 May 2027 and close 18 June 2027.
Primary viva
Sitting 2027.1: 6 and 7 May 2027. Applications open 8 February 2027 and close 5 March 2027.
Sitting 2027.2: 4 and 5 November 2027. Applications open 9 August 2027 and close 3 September 2027.
How to use the dates
You must pass the Written before you can sit the viva, and each part allows up to three attempts. Work backwards from the application closing date, not the exam date: that is when you need to have decided whether you are ready.
If you are aiming for the February Written, your decision point is late January. For the August Written it is mid-June.
